Parent Zoom POSTPONED from tonight to THURSDAY (5/5) at 7:30pm
I feel like Lucy always pulling the football away from Charlie Brown when it comes to these Zoom meeting schedules, but today it cannot be helped. My mother passed away very early this morning. She had been in hospice care for weeks and while we knew she was going to be called home soon, the actual experience of it requires time and attention, prayer and togetherness. So tonight I need to be with my kids who just lost their Nana.
I plan to have the F3 Sessions tomorrow and Wednesday evening and then would like to do this our final Parent Zoom on Thursday at 7:30pm. As always with these last minute changes, if you cannot attend it will not be held against you and if you let me know ahead of time I'd be happy to send you a link to the video recording of it.
Thank you for your understanding and support of our grieving today.

Due to a badly thrown back, I will be unable to facilitate the Parent Zoom tonight. Therefore, I've decided to cancel the Parent Zoom for March.
To be clear, while we will not be having a Parent Zoom Meeting, your family is still expected to complete the activities for February (Lesson 8: He Is Not Here; He Has Risen! and Lesson 9: Christ Is Risen; Christ Will Come Again) during the month of March. I will be creating an online Turn In for those February Lessons and will have a link ready before the end of the month. I look forward to seeing you next on Monday, March 28 for our regularly scheduled Parent Zoom for April.

Please accept my sincerest apologies if this change in schedule causes anyone inconvenience. I know I've changed these more than I should but ask your forgiveness in this case. During the Christmas break, my wife contracted Covid. Thankfully her case hasn't been too serious but has required her isolation and my family's quarantine at home. Thus, I've not been in the office to prepare for this meeting.
I've rescheduled this Parent Zoom for Wednesday, January 12, 7 - 8:30 pm. Any parents who cannot attend at this rescheduled time can simply email to let me know and I will be happy to provide a link to the recording of the zoom for your viewing later.

We will be having more discussion on these meetings (small group breakout rooms, large group sharing, etc.) and it's so much better if we can see each other!

Thank you for your patience as I am a day late in getting it to you! (And kudos to the two families who asked me about it yesterday or this morning - well done being on top of it!)
October Lessons Encouragement
I'm sorry I wasn't in touch last week. Hopefully you've begun your work on the October Materials:
- Monthly Tools (Your Catholic Home, Fridge Sheet, and Car Conversations) - pages 10-14 in your Parent Manual
- Lesson 1: "I Believe" - pages 15-25 in your Parent Manual
- Lesson 2: "In God, the Father Almighty" - pages 26 - 38 in your Parent Manual
- Monthly Saint: Saint Francis - page 39 in your Parent Manual
If you haven't and find the list above a little overwhelming, just begin with Lesson 1. Here's what to do:
- Parent(s) alone read all the pages in the Parent Manual (15-25).
- Decide which of the Activities you will do together as a family. (You do NOT have to do all of them. You should do more than half - in this case at least 3!)
- Figure out a time to get everyone together and lead the kids through the chosen activities.
- Do the activities together as a family.
- Repeat the above for Lesson 2 (pages 26-38 in the Parent Manual).
- Once done both, go to F3 at Home Turn Ins webpage, open the October Reflection, complete it, and click "Submit" to send it to us.
- Then you're done!

Parent Zoom Postponed
I have caught a cold, have a sore throat and not much of a voice. So I have to reschedule tonight's Parent Zoom. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause but would like to have our next Parent Zoom on Monday, November 1 at 7pm.

Online Turn In
Hello Families! If you haven't, scoll down and read the message from last Friday (Oct 15) regarding the calendar and what you should be up to before the end of this week.
I have set up the webpage you should visit each month on or before the monthly Turn In due date: www.standrewrcc.org/f3hometurnins. (You can also navigate to this page through the website's menu under Faith Formation and F3, to the page labeled "F3 at Home Turn Ins.") Each month prior to the due date, I will add a link to that month's reflection Turn In.
When you visit that page, you'll see a list of the months according to the book with a note in parenthesis about the month we're doing those activities. In other words, even though it's now October, you will be clicking on the link for September Reflection (done in October) because we're using the book a month behind to match our program dates. If that was totally confusing, I apologize! Just know that right now you should be completing the activities in the book labeled September and thus when you visit the webpage to turn in your reflection you will click the one for September (the reflection label matches the book label). Also, right now it's the only one available so that should make it clear!
I'll be checking the responses, especially after Friday (Oct 22) as that's your first due date. As our calendar below shows, our next Parent Zoom is Wednesday, Oct 27. Please try to have the September Activities done before then.
Books in Spanish
The books in Spanish have arrived! The Parent Guide is completely in Spanish. I will give it to you in addition to the Guide in English (without any fee). The Activity Book in Spanish is actually bilingual! It has English on one side and Spanish on the other of every page. So you don't need two activity books. If you'd like books in Spanish, I ask that you give me back the Activity Book in English and I will give you the Activity Book in Spanish. If you're able to do this during our usual business hours (Monday through Friday, 10am - 4pm) you can come anytime. If we need to offer a pick up time outside those hours (like on a Sunday morning or afternoon) let me know (email jharrington@standrewrcc.org) and we'll do that. I'll also be asking about this on our Parent Zoom next week.

Reminders / Encouragements
As this month is nearly half done, I hope that you've begun using A Family of Faith to inject more Catholicism into your home and family life.
Reminder: we are running a month behind the books! So during October we complete what's labelled September.
So, if you haven't started yet, here's a breakdown of what you need to be doing...
1. Read the Quick Start Guide and Making the Most Of Activities on pages III and IV.
2. Acquire a Family Storybook (either an actual scrapbook or a 3-ring binder).
3. Read page 1 - 7 in your Parent Guide.
4. Choose at least two or three days and times before Friday, October 22, to do the Activities as a family.
I will send another reminder (with web links) about completing the online Turn In (to describe for us your experiences doing these activities).

First Parent Zoom Tonight - invite sent at 6pm
A big thank you to all the families who came out and picked up their books prior to the meeting tonight. Thank you! It will make tonight's meeting much easier, perhaps even quicker. The Zoom Meeting ID invitation will be sent soon (always day of the meeting, while time might vary a bit). That invite will be sent via Flocknote, so you should get a text and an email with the web link to the meeting (the email will also list the ID and password separately if you need to type those in). If you do not receive the text and/or email by 6:15pm on the day of the Zoom, contact Jerry (jharrington@standrewrcc.org) to make sure that your Flocknote contact info is correct. See you tonight!
