The National Honor Society had two teams make it to the LEAD Conference 2014 National Honor Society Academic Challenge Final Four with the A Team bringing home the win on Jan. 31. Each team’s success is a testament to their hard work and academic preparation for this type of scholarly event and the amazing people who teach here at Bishop Verot.

Verot students also excelled during the third annual Algenol Solar boat challenge at Florida Gulf Coast University on Feb. 1. For the second year in a row, students from Bishop Verot took home the top honors for the fastest boat in the high school division as well as the grand prize of the fastest overall boat. Four teams from Bishop Verot competed in the event and they also took 3rd place in the high school division. Algenol Biofuels has hosted a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) event at the school for the past three years where students of all ages are challenged to design and build solar powered boats to compete in head-to-head races on the Algenol track.
